Darkest of Days, this could have been a great epic...

This game could have been a great epic.....
The game was developed by "8monkey Labs".... You might ask, who the fuck are they ???.... Ye I agree, ive never heard of them before, but they actually made a great game... sort of...
Darkest of Days, yep... thats the name of the game and tho its kinda lame, the game itself isnt... The main story revolves around a Time Travel Agency called KronoteK and the 19th century soldier Morris, now Morris here was gonna die in the battle (Battle of Little Big Horn) with the Indians but he was rescued by a Temporal Agent, ye smells Star Trek))), and brought to the KronoteK headquarters in some distant future, 22nd century if im not mistaken... Now since he was gonna die anyway no one would miss him and the timeline wouldn't be compromised... He becomes a perfect Temporal Agent and starts working for the KronoteK.... Now apparently there is a sort of temporal war going on between different versions of the one and only KronoteK, one being the one you joined and the other one from several decades in the future... Both sides try to find one man, the "Father" of Time, who invented time travel for humanity, but he got lost in time, how ironic))) So you have to find him before the future KronoteK does....
While you try to accomplish that you have to retrieve several persons from their time to fix some shit, i dindt get this part much.... But those are the missions... The story should be optimized imo but its still good)))
Ok lets talk about the gameplay.... Now the gfx is not the best, technically they are 2003-2004 level... And there are a lot of unfinished things, like a command terminal in the KronoteK headquarters... there are no buttons or interface whatsoever, just greenish glow... how stupid... Animation in the game is horrible, AI walk like they are made out of wood or have huge dildos stuck in their asses... Missions are really nice, mostly being major historical events, developers used their own engine that allowed them to add many, and i mean many AI in the game making it feel like you are really in the middle of a battlefield... Most of the weapons that you use in the game are from the same time period in which you are sent, but sometimes are are given some "futuristic" weapon to fix stuff here and there... There are not many weapons and they all are projectile, xept for the weird futuristic flamethrower or whatever that thing is, but you get that in the last level....
Now if you dont take in consideration the horrible gfx and animation the game is pretty good, and with that plot i wish it was developed by a decent developer studio... Cuz its a really good idea, and i havent seen games like this before...
I played this game with interest and pleasure but sadly its very short, tho the ending suggests a sequel))) Hope the second game is developed by EA or Id...

Im gonna give this game 6/10 cuz it has a good and interesting plot and you dont really pay attention to the gfx when you are playing a good story.... But why 6 if I liked it ??? Because gfx is also important and the abundance of unfinished things just kicks it down...

Cheers !

Section 8.... or whatever...

Ok so... recently "Timegate Studios" released their new project titled "Section 8". The teaser for the game was very nice... And after watching it i thought that the game would be nice, considering I love sci-fi and first person shooters and this was sci-fi fps... The game looked like Halo 3: ODST mixed with Crysis or something... Later they released a video in which they asked developers questions about the game and one of the developers said that it will be a mixture of Halo and Crysis, which will be something amazing.... At that point I was very happy about this game, but then the Beta came and OMG it was horrible... After few weeks the real deal arrived and here is where the shit starts !
The game was designed for Multiplayer mostly but like many games out there it has Singleplayer Campaign... Now, I havent played this game's MP but I sure had enough of its horrible SP.... And from it I can tell that the MP is not much better... Ye I know, I should not judge MP based on SP experience, but it looks like this game is an exception form the rules..
Lets get started...
The maps in the game are identical and uninteresting to play... Missions are identical as well... All you do is go to a checkpoint and kill everyone there, then to another checkpoint, then to another and so on, now there are different missions like "protect the convoy" but thats basically the same shit...
AI are not very smart as all they do is stand and wait for you to come... When they see you they start jumping and shooting at you or your buddies, and there is no tactic involved at all...
Going further, the AI in SP dont appear to be interacting with the environment (scenery) at all...
Now you thought that vehicle controls in Halo 2 were bad ? Wait till you see what they are in this game... Graphics are not that bad, but could have been better... Weapons are kinda unbalanced... It takes 3 hits from a rocket launcher to kill your enemy and only half of clip from a pulse rifle or whatever that gun is called... Now the tank gun is another fun part as it looks like that gun shoots fire turds or something... Where have you seen that it takes 2 direct hits from the tank's main cannon to kill a regular soldier ??? How silly is that, i mean really...
Aside from all that crap you cant pick up weapons and ammo, instead you have to go to this ammo-weapons-health-container device that your allies drop to you from the nearest spaceship once the battle is over.... How logical is that...

Now this game could have been good, and the MP is probably better than SP, considering that you play with real ppl, but I dont think that its gonna be any good considering that the gameplay itself is shit...

Cheers !
